The Upper Madison is fishing very well in all sections. Look for fish holding in mixing water, slicks, and slow water behind rocks. Nymphing has been the most effective tactic at the moment. On cloudy days the BWOs are hatching thick from Varney to Ennis lake. Try looking for risers holding in slow water and on the seams of fast water. Also small streamers have been very effective stripped slowly across the current.
